Louis Theroux is just fantastic. If you’ve not seen his “weird weekends” series I definitely recommend watching it on Dave.

Andrew: Shauny, did you know that the Firefox logo is actually a little fox?
Shaun: How did you not notice this before??
Traumatic Insemination
Traumatic insemination, also known as hypodermic insemination, is the mating practice in some species of invertebratesin which the male pierces the female’s abdomen with his penis and injects his sperm through the wound into her abdominal cavity. The sperm diffuse through the female’s hemolymph, reaching the ovaries and resulting in fertilization. The process is detrimental to the female’s health. It creates an open wound which impairs the female until it heals, and is susceptible to infection. The injection of sperm and ejaculatory fluids into the hemocoel can also trigger an immune reaction in the female. (via Shane Vigil)
And some people believe God divinely created this utterly barbaric method of copulation? Or did it evolve?
“I now have the liver of a mid-20s person who died in a car crash and was generous enough to donate their organs. I wouldn’t be here without such generosity,” an emotional Jobs told the audience, exhorting them to all become organ donors
Having a great time!!
Breakfast at Jacey’s with Andrew’s parents, then going to a wedding!
Derren Brown is a really good performer! Also a proud skeptic, atheist and gay man 🙂
Obviously Derren Brown did not “predict” the lotto numbers. He showed them AFTER they were announced. It was a trick. A good one though!
Posting my old phone to Mazuma and the alarm keeps going off inside the bag! I wonder if Royal Mail will think it’s a bomb :-
Let there be no doubt that as they are currently practiced, there is no common ground between science and religion… The argument is simple. I have yet to see a successful prediction about the physical world that was inferred or extrapolated from the content of any religious document. Indeed, I can make an even stronger statement. Whenever people have used religious documents to make detailed predictions about the physical world they have been famously wrong.
We have the new Sky+ HD guide and it is, indeed, awesome.
Funny how I completely disregard that old “dead tree” book now that I’m back in the UK. Putting iPhone down and curling up with a good book.
The Sixth Sense
Sometimes heart warming, sometimes heart stopping, this supernatural chiller is fascinating to watch and you just have to watch it again after the big reveal.

Playing catch-up
I am desperately trying to read everything in my Google Reader—trying to catch up on everything while I was away for two weeks.
Most sane people would probably hit “mark all as read” and carry on. But I cannot do this: there is some driving force that makes me need to read them all, as if I will miss out on something.
The blogs and news has been fantastic, as usual, but I could probably have skipped a vast majority of it and been no worse off.
Funny how something you’ve never noticed before suddenly sticks out. One could almost believe it is a “Glitch in the Matrix” 😉
Dear Internet: Please stop posting news and blogs until I have caught up from the last two weeks. kthanksbye.
Fitting all those IKEA boxes into the car is like playing Tetris.
I can see into the future, and it is awesome
No, I am not claiming to have psychic powers or anything. I have just been watching lots of TED videos and they fill me with awe. Some of the stuff that is being developed right now makes science fiction look more and more like a documentary of the future.
The only problem is it can’t come soon enough!
On our way to IKEA. Need a new bed and some meatballs 🙂 Might pop into the Apple Store and get Snow Leopard. Just £25 awesome!
Got our new Sky viewing card *at last* but no new Sky HD guide? It was months ago they announced that and still nothing…
