Passed!

Well, got my results from the first year of uni and I’m glad to say that I’ve passed! I wasn’t aware that you only need 70% to get a “first” (the highest mark you can get at uni, kinda like an A) and if I knew that I would have tried a little harder – I got a zero on 2 pieces of coursework that I didn’t hand in (that was during the time I was really depressed, and couldn’t face doing some work. Then the next piece relied on the first piece so I never got that finished either!). If I would have just done those, and maybe revised a little more for some of the other exams I could easily have got a first.

Oh well, it doesn’t matter now, as I have enough to carry on to the next year (more than enough!) and now they practically throw the results away; it is nothing to do with my final grade. I have learned never to do “just well enough”, but next year will give it my all!

I will spare you from ALL the results but here’s some:

My best coursework mark (average for all coursework in that module):
INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING , 97.3%

My best exam mark:
INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING , 80%
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PRACTICE , 80%

My worst coursework mark (average for all coursework in that module):
INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS AND INTELLIGENT MACHINES , 28.8% (missed 2 whole pieces)

My worst exam mark:
INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE , 43% (didn’t really revise much for this, or go to lectures)

My best overall subject (coursework and exam):
INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING , 84.3%

My worst overall subject (coursework and exam):
INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE , 49.8%

Interesting that AI was one of my worst results; the coursework wasn’t that bad, in fact at 77% it was well over a “first” but the exam mark really brought that down. And I didn’t really attend the lectures much or revise that much for the exam. As I am doing AI next year this is really the subject I should concentrate on the most. Other than that, not bad! LOL.

That’s all about my exams. Another post will follow.
