Toy Story 3
Just wonderful! A fantastic way to end the trilogy, lots of laughs and some really sad moments too (yes I cried a bit!). I can’t fault it.
5 Stars.
District 9
Thought-provoking and realistic, it really gave you the impression that this was a documentary of an event which really happened. The story was good, although slightly cliche, and left room for a sequel.
4.5 Stars
The finale of Lost was so disappointing it’s pathetic! Did not answer a single thing. What a waste. #lostfinale #lost
Avoiding TV, radio and Internet today so I don’t have the ending of Lost spoiled before I see it tonight. More difficult than I thought!
The Mist
A nicely paced film, the tension and terror grows with every passing moment. I love the whole “the real danger is us” thinking, and this is quite possibly what would actually happen should monsters start appearing in the mist!
4.5 Stars
Sicko
Whatever your opinion on the healthcare reform in America, you need to see this. Moving and shocking, Michael Moore compares the US health system with other countries in the world, with surprising and disgusting results.
5 Stars
Wow, “Sicko” was very good—really showed how backwards the US healthcare system is. #WeLoveTheNHS
I’ve just got to say it; Avatar in 3D was amazing!
“Get Real” is a very sweet film, and quite true to life! I saw a lot of similarities with my life growing up gay. Recommended!
I’m quite confused as to why Star Wars is never on Sky! I’d like to see them in HD, but not available on Blu Ray. What’s up George Lucas??
Watching Tim Minchin Live. Hilarious!
Watching Moulin Rouge, one of my favourites. The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return!
Doctor Who was awesome, I will miss Tennant but am glad the writer is changing because RTD can get a bit much at times. Roll on new Who!
My goodness, ‘Most Haunted’ is a utter load of crap. ‘Did you hear that?’, ‘Did you see that?’ wetting themselves, very scientific.
If ghosts exist, there would be scientific evidence. Not ‘funny feelings’, ‘cold drafts’, mysterious noises and pareidolia.
Ofcom: “Most Haunted is an entertainment show, not a legitimate investigation, and should not be taken seriously.”
The Apprentice USA just pales in comparison to the BBC version. It is embarrassingly amateurish.
New Doctor Who tonight!! So exciting.
If you haven’t seen it, watch ‘V for Vendetta’ one of my all-time favourite films, and is about the 5th of November.
Watched Serenity. I think you really had to have seen Firefly to appreciate it’s awesomeness. So sad that it is all over now!
“Up” was fantastic, touching and very funny!
Really getting into Firefly, shame there is only one series…
Temporal Prime Directive
Andrew and I have been watching Star Trek: Voyager from the beginning, one episode a day for almost a year.
I’d seen a lot of it before, back when it was on TV for the first time, and always enjoyed it. But to watch the episodes this way—with no long gaps—has been brilliant.
Tonight was the final episode. 7 series of Voyager all lead to this one night.
And it was fantastic.
If you’ve never seen Voyager, I thoroughly recommend it. They are starting over from episode 1 tomorrow on Virgin 1.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are both fantastic, as usual. A very dark and dismal nineteenth century England is contrasted by the brilliant songs and subtle comedy, adding to the atmosphere to make it a very enjoyable watch. I cannot stop listening to the soundtrack — it is wonderful.
5 Stars
Louis Theroux is just fantastic. If you’ve not seen his “weird weekends” series I definitely recommend watching it on Dave.
The Sixth Sense
Sometimes heart warming, sometimes heart stopping, this supernatural chiller is fascinating to watch and you just have to watch it again after the big reveal.
4 stars
Out of Africa
A beautiful story, pulls all your heartstrings and is both happy and sad. Very Memorable.
4.5 stars
Beowulf is stunning in HD. Grendel is disgusting.
Harry Potter = awesome. The best movie by far. Building up to an amazing ending. The book was better though… 😉
Masters of the Universe
Absolutely awful acting and basically no plot. I understand that it is based on a comic book and it was made in the 80s but c’mon, this is just painful to watch. It gets one star for Courtney Cox and Tom Paris Robert Duncan McNeill.
1 star.
JK Rowling outs Dumbledore as gay
She said she regarded her novels as a “prolonged argument for tolerance” and urged her fans to “question authority”.
BBC NEWS | Entertainment | New Doctor Who costume revealed
I’m not entirely sure what I think about Matt Smith as Doctor Who, but then again I’m sure I felt this about David Tennant and yet he turned out to be my absolute favourite. I also had some reservations about Catherine Tate’s role, but now I yearn for more Donna!
Blink was one of my favourite episodes and so I’m sure Steven Moffat will do a great job taking the show forward.
